How to Calculate Your Tarot Birth Card
Add the digits of your birth date, reduce, and read the card. Here is the full method with examples.

The Method
- Write your birth date as month, day and year.
- Add every digit.
- If the total is greater than 22, add the digits of the total again.
- Match the final number (1 to 22) to a Major Arcana card. 22 is The Fool.
- If that number is 10 or higher, reduce it once more to a single digit to find your soul card.
Example 1: A Single Card
07/04/1990 → 0 + 7 + 0 + 4 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 30 → 3 + 0 = 3. Your birth card is The Empress, both personality and soul card.
Example 2: A Pair
05/06/2000 → 0 + 5 + 0 + 6 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 13. The total is already 22 or less, so your personality card is Death (XIII). Reduce once more: 1 + 3 = 4, so your soul card is The Emperor (IV).
Special Cases
- Total of 22: The Fool (0) as personality card, The Emperor as soul card.
- Total of 19: The Sun, passing through Wheel of Fortune to The Magician.
- Total of 10: Wheel of Fortune and The Magician.
Why Some Readers Differ
